A 29-year-old pedestrian sustained critical injuries after a Saturday afternoon collision in downtown Las Vegas.
According to Metro Police:
At 2:44 p.m., a 2002 Toyota Camry was stopped in the east part of the parking lot of an AMPM convenience store at 2320 E. Fremont St.
When a man approached the vehicle's passenger side, the Camry accelerated toward the fuel pumps.
The front of the car crashed into a yellow barrier post, forcing the pedestrian, who was clinging to the car's passenger side, to the ground.
The driver fled the scene in the vehicle but was located by a Metro officer a short distance away and arrested for felony hit-and-run.
The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The collision remains under investigation.
