Las Vegas is getting a break from the intense sunshine for a couple days and could see some light rain.

The National Weather Service predicts that remnants of Hurricane Blanca could bring light showers to the valley through Wednesday. There is a 30 percent chance of rain this afternoon and evening and a 20 percent chance Wednesday, officials said.

On Mount Charleston, there is a 40 percent chance of rain through Saturday.

Today’s temperature is expected to top out at 93 degrees, under cloudy skies.

It rarely rains in Las Vegas in June, according to the weather service.

Records show that since 1937, there have been 148 days of rainfall and only 43 days of measurable rain. The wettest June day — June 10, 1990 — saw 0.82 inches of rain after Hurricane Boris.
