Man shot at convenience store near shuttered Riviera

Metro Police are investigating a shooting at a convenience store near the closed Riviera on Paradise Road.

Police received a call just before noon reporting that a man had been shot in the 2900 block of Paradise, officials said.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center. His condition was not known, Metro Officer Laura Meltzer said.

It is unknown how many people were involved in the shooting, Meltzer said. No arrests have been made.

The scene was blocked off to foot traffic and there is heavy police activity in the area, officials said.
