A person was taken to the hospital with head injuries after being beaten this afternoon near North Jones and West Lake Mead boulevards, according to Metro Police.
The incident, initially believed to be a shooting, was reported about 1:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of North Mallard Street, Officer Larry Hadfield said.
The victim was transported to University Medical Center, Hadfield said.
No suspects were in custody, police said.
