Elementary school evacuated after smoke detector activated

Paul East Culley Elementary School was evacuated this morning after an odor coming form a dryer set off a smoke alarm, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue officials said.

Nobody was injured, and no damage was reported, officials said.

The incident was reported about 9 a.m. at the school at 1200 N. Mallard St., near Jones Boulevard and Washington Avenue. The situation was resolved within about 10 minutes.
