A/C unit catches fire at UNLV

Fri, May 8, 2015 (11:19 a.m.)

A building on the UNLV campus was evacuated Friday morning in response to reports of a fire, the Clark County Fire Department said.

At 10:25 a.m., fire crews responded to the incident at a two-story building on 4505 South Maryland Parkway, the department said.

By the time they got there, maintenance workers on the roof of the building had already extinguished a fire in an A/C unit, the department said.

Some firefighters stayed on scene to help clear a light haze of smoke on the second floor, the department said.

The fire did not spread to the building's other structures, the department said.

No injuries were reported.
