letters to the editor:

Eliminate jealousy as basis for taxation

Wed, May 27, 2015 (2 a.m.)

The IRS has the unenviable job of collecting taxes according to an obsolete tax code. If our elected officials in D.C. had any leadership skills, they would trim the top tax rate to match the unemployment rate because everyone is underpaid as long as even one person is unemployed, pointing the way to a much larger economy. A much closer to flat-rate tax code would minimize the use of jealousy as a basis for taxation.
