As a child, I asked my parents: Why are we Democrats? They told me the Democratic Party represented “we the people.” It continues to represent the people.
Think about past Democratic presidents who started social programs, such as Social Security, Medicare and health care. Now think about Republican presidents who did something for the people. I can think of one: Abraham Lincoln.
