1 dead, 1 critical after shooting near Rancho, Washington

One person was killed and another was injured after a dispute in the central valley Thursday evening, according to Metro Police.

Police were called about 7:15 p.m. to the 3000 block of Riverside Drive, near Rancho Drive and Washington Avenue, Lt. Kendall Bell said.

A suspect shot two males of unknown age before fleeing, and one of the injured victims died at the scene, he said. The other was transported to University Medical Center in critical condition, he said.

Metro's homicide detectives are investigating.
