A bicyclist discovered a man's body at the River Mountain Loop Trail this afternoon, according to a Henderson Fire Department spokeswoman.
Authorities were called about 4 p.m. to mile marker 34 of the recreation trail, spokeswoman Kathleen Richards said. The trail runs through Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Hoover Dam, Boulder City, Henderson and Las Vegas.
A very preliminary investigation shows that the man's death does not appear to be suspicious and was possibly due to the heat, Richards said, adding that Boulder City police will complete the investigation. The man was described as possibly transient.
