A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and seriously injured in the northwest valley this afternoon, according to Metro Police.
The incident happened about 2:20 p.m. at the intersection of Smoke Ranch Road and Rock Springs Drive, near U.S 95, Officer Laura Meltzer said.
The woman who was hit was taken to University Medical Center. The intersection was shut down except for westbound Smoke Ranch, police said.
