More Coverage
UNLV basketball will appear on TV at least 12 times this season, the Mountain West announced this morning.
The league released its full slate of national TV and streaming appearances, and UNLV has at least 19 regular-season games that will be covered. For TV, that includes eight appearances on CBS Sports Network, one on Root Sports and one each on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU, though that number could grow.
The Rebels have three flex games that will either air on ESPNU or stream on ESPN3, a decision the network will make about three weeks before the game. UNLV’s regular-season finale at Fresno State is already slated for ESPN3, and the league also announced streaming on Mountain West Network/Campus Insiders for three additional games.
Any UNLV home game not picked up for broadcast is expected to stream on UNLVRebels.com. Also, the Mountain West Tournament quarterfinals and semifinals will air on CBS Sports Network with the championship game on CBS.
Date changes
Some of the games have been moved from their original dates. This generally happens every year to accommodate the TV schedule, and this year that affected two UNLV games.
The Jan. 10 trip to New Mexico and the Jan. 17 home game against San Diego State were both originally scheduled for Wednesdays but will now be played on Tuesdays. Also, the Rebels recently moved their second exhibition game (against New Mexico Highlands) up one day to Friday, Nov. 4, to accommodate the Manny Pacquiao-Jessie Vargas fight on Nov. 5 at the Thomas & Mack Center.
