Nevada Senate committee passes marijuana packing bill

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Senate Judiciary Committee has approved a bill to prohibit the sale of marijuana in any form that appears to be candy and may appeal to children.

The bill would also ban advertising on packages that would such appeal to children, such as cartoon characters.

Senate Bill 344 requires marijuana cookies and brownies be packaged in nontransparent containers. The measure next goes to the full Senate for a full vote, probably next week.
