Thank you for your April 10 article headlined “No rest for the wary,” concerning the strain that the Trump family is imposing on the Secret Service.
This issue has bothered me for a long time.
Millions of taxpayer dollars and being spent for security coverage by New York City Police and federal agents at Trump Tower in Manhattan.
Why?
Because the president’s wife doesn’t want to move to the White House, and the Trumps want their 10-year-old son to stay at his school in Manhattan.
This is utter nonsense.
In the past, presidents have transferred their children to Washington, D.C., schools.
Can’t this billionaire family afford a private tutor?
The Secret Service is providing agents for the families of Trump’s grown children.
Why?
Don Jr. and Eric are adults traveling the world on private business trips. Can’t these super-wealthy men afford private protection for themselves, their wives and children?
It’s time for President Donald Trump, who boasts about all his billions, to show some regard for the American taxpayer and take financial responsibility for his family.
