Bishop Gorman High quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson verbally committed to UCLA tonight on social media.
He has more than 20 scholarship offers, ultimately picking the Bruins over Michigan.
“University of California, Los Angeles. I'm your Quarterback,” he posted on Twitter.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Thompson-Robinson is a four-star recruit and the nation’s second-ranked dual-threat quarterback by Rivals.com for the class of 2018.
Thompson-Robinson completed 21-of-31 passes for 269 yards and three touchdowns last season in playing mostly with Gorman’s second string. Rather, he was a starter at wide receiver, and showed his versatility by catching 22 passes for 397 yards and eight touchdowns.
He’ll finally be the starting quarterback in 2017, leading a program on a 54-game winning streak in its quest for a ninth straight Nevada state championship.
Thompson-Robinson is the third from Gorman’s 2018 class to give a commitment. He joins linebacker Palaie Gaoteote (USC), tight end Brevin Jordan (Miami) and defensive end Adam Plant Jr.
Verbal commitments are non-bonding until national signing day.
