A pedestrian died Monday night after being struck by a pickup truck on East Sahara Avenue and 6th Street, Metro Police said.
The driver of a red pickup truck was heading eastbound on Sahara with a green light about 7:45 p.m. when he hit a man crossing the street, police said.
The man, said to be in his 50s, was transported to Sunrise Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver, a man in his 40s, remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators. Police said the driver was not impaired.
Metro said this is the 57th pedestrian death of the year.
