Woman, 80, hit by car, killed crossing street in wheelchair

An 80-year-old Las Vegas woman was hit by a car and killed Tuesday night while crossing the street in an electric wheelchair, according to Metro Police.

The accident happened about 10 p.m. at West Charleston Boulevard and Cimarron Road, police said.

The woman was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when she was hit by an eastbound Chrysler Sebring driven by a 26-year-old woman, police said.

The woman in the wheelchair was taken to University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
