Metro Police say three schools near Charleston and Rainbow boulevards were temporarily locked down as officers searched for a possibly armed burglary suspect.

Warren Elementary School, Bonanza High School and the College of Southern Nevada’s Charleston campus were locked down, police said.

The burglary was reported about 9:45 a.m. today in the 6500 block of West Charleston Boulevard, where a suspect fled a home, police said. The person may have been armed with a gun, police said.

Officers have set up a perimeter in the area and searched for the suspect, police said. Police said about 11:20 a.m. that the lockdown was lifted and that the suspect was still at large.
