Police say a report of a man with a gun at a northwest Las Vegas hospital is unfounded.
Officer Larry Hadfield says the call originated about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday with a report of a suspicious person who was thought to have a firearm at Summerlin Hospital and Medical Center.
Hadfield says no gun was actually seen, no shots were fired and no one was injured.
It's not clear if anyone was taken into custody for questioning.
Officer Michael Rodriguez says police are investigating the validity of the initial report. He calls it a "false alarm."He says the hospital is returning to normal business.
The hospital is about 12 miles northeast of downtown Las Vegas. It has about 450 beds and is owned by Universal Health Services of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
Hospital spokeswomen didn't immediately respond to messages.
