Liberty High defensive end Crishaun Lappin verbally committed to UNR football tonight after a weekend visit in Reno.

The 6-foot, 245-pound Lappin also had scholarship offers from UTEP and Northern Arizona, according to Rivals.com. The two-star recruit made his commitment on Twitter.

“Growing up thinking about playing college football was just a dream,” he posted. “Today is becomes a reality.”

Lappin has 23 tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery through five games for the Patriots. At fullback, he’s rushed for a pair of touchdowns.

He’s the second Liberty player from the class of 2018 to commit. Allan Mwata plans to sign with San Diego State.

Commitments are non-binding until national signing day in December. Mwata, for instance, was initially committed to BYU before flipping to the Aztecs.
