Metro Police say they have arrested a man in the kidnapping and assault of a UNLV student last week.

Juh’Juan Washington, 21, was arrested Sunday and booked at the Clark County Detention Center, where he faces 15 counts, including second-degree kidnapping, assault, burglary while in possession of a gun, grand larceny of an auto and open/gross lewdness, according to jail records.

UNLV Police said a female student was kidnapped at gunpoint at one of school’s parking garages Friday morning and assaulted at another location.

The student had parked her vehicle on the second floor of the garage about 6 a.m. when she was approached by an armed man, police said.

Police said the suspect forced the victim back into her car and made her to drive to the area of Katie and Cambridge streets, about half a mile north of UNLV. During the ordeal, the victim was able to take the attacker’s gun and flee, police said. The suspect also fled on foot, police said.

Washington’s combined bail was set at $188,000, according to jail records.
