Zach Matlock returned to the lineup tonight for the Las Vegas High football team, throwing for two touchdowns in a 26-12 victory against Valley to secure the No. 2 playoff seed for the Wildcats.

Matlock, who had been injured since early October, connected with Chris Bunn and Cameron Fullow for touchdowns. It was Las Vegas’ third straight win.

“The kids are playing with a lot more confidence than early in the season,” Las Vegas coach Erick Capetillo said.

Elijah Hicks rushed for more than 200 yards and two touchdowns for Las Vegas, which scored 26 unanswered points to open the game. It hosts Foothill in next week’s Sunrise Regional quarterfinals.
