T.K. Fotu ran for 158 yards and two touchdowns to lead Durango to a 49-20 win Saturday night against host Desert Oasis.

“T.K. is a heck of an athlete,” Durango coach Scott Murdock said. “He was hard to tackle tonight, and the passing game was working as well so they couldn’t load the box.”

Quarterback Kaden Renshaw threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for 92 yards and two more scores on the ground for Durango.

Justin Johnson ran for 66 yards a touchdown on offense, and intercepted a pass on defense.

The Trailblazers led 29-0 at halftime and cruised to an easy win in the second half, improving to 2-0 in league play this season. The victory helps erase the memory of last week’s 20-6 loss to Coronado.

“The big thing is coming off a loss like we had last week, we needed a response,” Murdock said. “We had a lot of guys that weren’t able to play last week (due to injuries and ineligibility) so to get everyone back, and play a lot better was good. The kids responded.”
