DiaMante Burton rushed and passed for two touchdowns tonight for the Canyon Springs High football team in a 54-6 win at Valley in the Northeast League opener.

The Pioneers, in their first action after a much publicized end-of-the-game fight two weeks ago against Basic, showed no signs of rust.

“The kids wanted to come out and show they still love the game of football,” Canyon Springs coach Gus McNair said.

Jayvion Pugh, Knylen Miller-Levi, Kazonte Thomas and Johnathan Bailey had touchdowns for the Pioneers, the defending Northeast champions.
