Bicyclist, 60, is critical after being struck near Lake Mead, MLK

A bicyclist was critically injured this morning near Lake Mead and Martin Luther King boulevards when he was sideswiped by a pickup truck whose driver fled, according to Metro Police.

The cyclist, a 60-year-old man, was rushed to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Investigators are searching for a silver 2000s-model Dodge regular cab truck and its driver, police said. The right side of the vehicle, including its mirror, were damaged.

The victim was heading east on a mountain bike near a curb about 6:25 a.m. when he was hit by the truck, which was traveling in the same direction, police said.
