It’s official: Beauty Bar is under new ownership, and local music fans should recognize the woman now helming the Downtown bar and music venue. Roxie Amoroso, a veteran Vegas promoter and musician who has played in bands like Pigasus and Crazy Chief—and the owner of Exile on Main Street clothing boutique—recently purchased a stake in the 13-year-old Fremont East anchor. She’ll partner with co-owner Corey Harrison of Pawn Stars fame to head up the next phase.

“I want to focus on the content,” says Amoroso, who will work with talent buyer Patrick “Pulsar” Trout to program the calendar, with increased emphasis on indoor entertainment. “We’ve brought in a huge backline and a new lighting system outside, but I’m going to keep as much inside as I can. I’d rather sell less tickets and have a show be way cooler than put it on the large stage and undersell, and have it be less rad. I want everything to be rad.”

Amoroso has crafted a new residency rotation that will include free monthly events like the Nico Lopez-curated Paradise Fever funk and soul party (every third Sunday beginning August 19), the Rhyolite Sound-hosted Nudie Bar honky-tonk night (Saturdays) and Death Rock, a goth and emo bash that kicks off September 28. They’ll join weekly favorites like DJ Fish on Mondays, Nickel Beer Night on Tuesdays and the DJ David Christian-curated ER (Emergency Room) dance night on Wednesdays.
