From its inception, the Las Vegas Lights FC hasn’t shied away from wacky promotions.

The team’s done everything from posing players shirtless on Fremont Street to unveil its shorts, to parading llamas on the field before games. But the Sept. 8 promotion may take things to a new high for the inaugural season.

At some point during the game against the LA Galaxy II, a helicopter will hover over Cashman Field and drop $5,000 onto the turf. A total of 200 lucky fans will be selected to be on the field to collect as much cash as they can.

During the final month of the season in September, the club will have promotions including a Mexican Independence Day celebration at the Sept. 16 game against the Portland Timbers. It will include fireworks and mariachi bands.

Sept. 26 has been dubbed Industry Night, and all service industry workers will receive a free beer at the pregame tailgate beginning at 5:30 p.m. by presenting their work ID.

Finally, the Lights will give bobbleheads of their mascot Cash the Soccer Rocker to the first 5,000 fans in attendance for the season finale Sept. 29 against the Oklahoma City Energy FC.
