The Arbor View High football team entered the season having won 42 games over the past four seasons.

In the initial two weeks of 2018, the Aggies have added to the impressive tally by knocking off a pair of California teams, including a hard-fought 17-14 win tonight at Valencia.

Valencia is a respected program that is ranked in the top-200 nationally. Needless to say, that makes the Aggies’ win even more impressive.

“Anyone was has traveled knows it is not easy to come in to play a top team in California and win,” Arbor View coach Dan Barnson said.

JJ Tuinei had 13 tackles and a forced fumble to lead the Aggies defense. The fumble was recovered deep inside Valencia territory to set up Easton Jones’ game-winning 24-yard field goal with less than three minutes to play.

Kyle Graham carried the ball 31 times for 189 yards, including a 44-yard touchdown run. Justin Hausner added a short touchdown run for Arbor View, who scored the game’s final 10 points.

“The kids are fired up. They are excited,” Barnson said.

Niles Scafati added two interceptions in the first half for Arbor View.
