The Legacy Longhorns struggled mightily to throw the ball in their 27-7 defeat at the hands of Dixie High School Friday night.

Dixie, who made the trip to Las Vegas from St. George, Utah, scored twice passing and twice rushing to hand the Longhorns their first loss of the season.

Legacy sophomore quarterback Evan Olaes completed only 4-of-14 passes and threw two interceptions on the night.

“We scheduled these games to get better for divisional play,” Legacy coach John Isola said. “If we’re going to show our youth, this is the time to do it. That’s going to make us better, and grow up a lot faster.”

Running back Amorey Foster was one of the lone bright spots for Legacy, running for 71 yards and the lone touchdown of the game.

The Longhorns now have a short week before they take on the Centennial Bulldogs on Thursday night.

“I want us to execute and play a clean game,” Isola said. “We did that last week and got the big win, so we just need to continue that.”
