Kimani Johnson had a pair of touchdown runs tonight for the Shadow Ridge High football team to help the Mustangs rally late for a 36-29 victory against visiting Snow Canyon of Utah.

Shadow Ridge scored the game’s final 15 points to win, including the game-winner with just 48 seconds remaining.

“That was a gutsy win,” Shadow Ridge coach Travis Foster said.

Anthony Wheaton and Brock Weisheim added rushing touchdowns for Shadow Ridge (2-1), and quarterback Kody Presser had a touchdown pass to Kimo Kahanu.

Shadow Ridge improves to 2-1 on the season, recovering after a tough loss last week in Idaho. Shadow Ridge led early but committed too many mistakes in a three-touchdown defeat.

“We kept repeating to the kids all week, ‘The only team that beats us is us,’” Foster said.
