Four suspects accused of kidnapping, robbing, beating, and trying to extort a victim early Wednesday have been arrested, according to Metro Police.

The victim had been set up by Samya Bailey, 18, who she accompanied to a Strip hotel, police said. Once inside a room, Shamar Beard, 19, entered and robbed the victim at gunpoint, police said.

After the initial robbery, the suspects forced the victim into a black Jeep SUV occupied by Kyle Elkins-Beach, 18, and Willie Lomas, 19, police said.

The Jeep with its five occupants headed to the victim’s motel room where the suspects stole more of her items, police said. In an attempt to extort her, the suspects demanded the victim contact her boyfriend and ask for money.

Using a cell phone application, the boyfriend tracked his girlfriend’s location and headed there, spotting the Jeep, police said. He then followed the vehicle into an apartment complex in the 2700 block of North Rainbow Boulevard, south of Cheyenne Avenue.

Around that time, the victim was able to free herself, police said. And it’s at that location officers responded about 3:35 a.m. to reports of gunshots and two SUV’s driving recklessly.

The injured woman approached Metro at the parking lot stating that she’d been kidnapped and beaten by three men and a woman, police said. She was taken to University Medical Center with survivable injuries.

Later Wednesday, police identified and arrested the four suspects, who were booked at the Clark County Detention Center on counts of kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, battery with substantial bodily harm and conspiracy to commit battery, police said.

Further details were not immediately available.
