Henderson approved the sale of 55 acres of land to the Raiders to build a practice facility and corporate offices. The sale is for $6.05 million, which is half the fair market value of the land at $12.1 million.
Raiders President Marc Badain thanked city staff for “welcoming the silver and black to this wonderful community.”
The land is located near the Henderson Executive Airport. Groundbreaking will be in the spring.
The headquarters could have a ripple effect for development and real estate in Henderson.
The Raiders are expected to begin play in Southern Nevada in 2020 at its $2 billion stadium — funding mostly with $750 million in public money — on Russell Road near Interstate 15.
