July Fourth freebie: County offers free entry to swimming pools for holiday

Clark County officials announced Tuesday its nine public water parks and pools will be offering free admission for Wednesday's Independence Day holiday. Normally priced $1 to $3 for entry, the alcohol-free facilities require children under 9 years old to be accompanied by an adult.

"The county has some wonderful aquatics facilities and we encourage families to come out and enjoy them as part of their Independence Day celebrations," County Commissioner Steve Sisolak said in a release.

Here are the pools offering free admission on July 4:

• Desert Breeze Water Park, 8275 W. Spring Mountain Road, (702) 455-7798, 12- 4p.m.

• Hollywood Water Park, 1550 S. Hollywood Blvd, (702) 455-8508, 12-4 p.m.

• Paradise Water Park, 4775 McLeod Drive, (702) 455-8541, 12-4 p.m.

• Parkdale Water Park, 3200 Ferndale St., (702) 455-7523, 1-5 p.m.

• Walnut Water Park, 3075 Walnut Road, (702) 455-8422, 12-4 p.m.

• Whitney Neighborhood Pool, 5712 E. Missouri Ave., (702) 455-8529, 1-5 p.m.

• Indian Springs Neighborhood Pool, 400 Sky Lane, (702) 879-3023, 2- 6 p.m.
