Summer is heating up on the Las Vegas Strip and at UNLV as another big-time annual sports event returns the same weekend as a superstar kicks off a new round of residency shows. There’s too much fun going on. Catch as much as you can.

NBA SUMMER LEAGUE For the first time, the Las Vegas NBA Summer League will feature all 30 NBA teams tipping off with a record 10 games on Friday at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the campus of UNLV. The tournament-style format culminates with a championship game on July 17, won last year by the Lakers and Summer League MVP Lonzo Ball. Catch basketball’s stars of tomorrow all weekend long. July 6-8, info at unlvtickets.com.

GWEN STEFANI: JUST A GIRL Now that Stefani has a few Vegas shows under her belt, it’s time to check out the Strip’s newest resident headliner at Zappos Theater at the Planet Hollywood resort. The stylish songbird reels off solo hits as well as rock and pop faves from her time leading No Doubt while her backing band and dancers keep the energy high, and the glamorous production might remind you of classic Vegas shows from bygone eras. July 6-7, info at caesars.com.

KEVIN HART The last time this comedy mogul embarked on a stand-up tour, he became the first comedian to sell out an NFL stadium. Catch Hart’s Irresponsible Tour stop at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Friday night. July 6, info at mgmresorts.com.

METHOD MAN & REDMAN Locals tend to avoid the Strip in the summertime but hitting Brooklyn Bowl for a concert (and exploring the Linq Promenade for some food and drinks) is one of the best reasons to make the trip. No matter where you’re from, you can catch hip-hop heavyweights Method Man and Redman teaming up onstage Friday night. July 6, info at brooklynbowl.com.

MARIAH CAREY: THE BUTTERFLY RETURNS One of the best-selling female pop artists of all time, Mariah Carey completed her first two-year run at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace last year and tacked on a series of Christmas shows for good measure. Her new residency promises to dig into her full catalog, focusing on favorites beyond her many No. 1 hits. If your weekend is booked, Mariah also has shows planned for July 10, 14 and 15. July 7-8, info at thecolosseum.com.
