A construction worker was rescued today after suffering an injury three stories off the ground at the Las Vegas stadium site, according to the Clark County Fire Department and the developer.
The fire department’s technical rescue team responded after the worker was unable to get down on their own, officials said. They were brought down with the assistance of a crane operator, officials said.
The patient was taken to University Medical Center in stable condition, officials said.
“The worker was evaluated by the project’s onsite medical personnel and taken to an area hospital for further evaluation,” project developer Mortenson-McCarthy said in a statement. “The worker was alert prior to transport. Safety is our top priority on this and every project, and we will be reviewing the incident carefully.”
Crews have daily safety meetings, and there are five safety managers on site at all times, officials said.
Construction of the $1.84 billion, 65,000-seat domed stadium where the Raiders and UNLV will play football is slated for completion in 2020.
