The Society of Professional Journalists honored dozens of journalists and news outlets at the 2017 Sigma Delta Chi Awards banquet yesterday.
Greenspun newsroom staff received the Sigma Delta Chi award for Deadline Writing in a non-daily publication for their coverage of the Oct. 1 mass shooting that was published in The Sunday magazine.
Held in Washington, D.C., at the National Press Club, the society promotes the free flow of information vital to a well-informed citizenry, works to inspire and educate the next generation of journalists, and protects First Amendment guarantees of freedom of speech and press.
