2 firefighters injured while battling southeast valley blaze

A blaze at a southeast valley business Tuesday afternoon sent two firefighters to the hospital and caused about $75,000 in damage, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

The firefighters were injured when a ladder fell on them, officials said. They were taken to University Medical Center, but further information on the extent of their injuries wasn’t provided.

A third person suffered minor burns, officials said.

Crews responded about 12:45 p.m. to a sign-making business in the 3400 block of Patrick Lane, near Pecos Road, officials said. The fire, which remained under investigation, was extinguished in about 15 minutes.
