Two arrested in shooting that wounded 10-year-old bystander

Two men have been arrested in a shooting this week that wounded three people, including a 10-year-old bystander, according to Metro Police.

The shooting happened about 4:40 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Nellis Boulevard.

The men got into an argument with several people as they were walking out of a business, and one of the men pulled a handgun and started shooting, police said. The gunman continued to fire as the group crossed a busy street into a business parking lot, police said.

One of the people being chased was shot in the hip and two bystanders, including a 10-year-old girl, were injured, police said. The injuries were not life threatening, police said.

Multiple vehicles also were hit by gunfire, police said.

Detectives identified Tyrone Eagland, 18, and Zachary Hewitt, 20, as suspects in the case. They were located in the 700 block of Lone Mountain Road and taken into custody, police said.

They each face three counts of attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon and assault with a deadly weapons, five counts of discharging a gun into a vehicle, and a count of conspiracy to commit murder, police said.
