Police: Girl sexually assaulted at gunpoint after accepting ride

Metro Police say a girl was sexually assaulted at gunpoint after accepting a ride from a man in this car in the area of Twain Avenue and Swenson Street on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.

Metro Police say they are looking for a man who offered a girl a ride and then sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.

The juvenile was walking alone Wednesday near Twain Avenue and Swenson Street when a man driving a black BMW offered her a ride, police said. The girl got in the car and the man drove around the area for several minutes before sexually assaulting her, police said.

She was ordered out of the car in an alley near Twain and Palos Verdes Street, where officers were dispatched about 4:35 p.m. to investigate a report of an injured girl, police said. The girl was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

The man was black, about 20 to 30 years old, tall with a slender but muscular build, bald and had some hair on his chin, police said. The car was a black, four-door BMW.
