Pedestrian hit, killed while crossing Decatur Boulevard

A 28-year-old man from Reno was killed Wednesday night when he was hit by a car while trying to cross a street in the northwest valley, according to Metro Police.

The man was crossing Decatur Boulevard, north of Bonanza Road, about 8:15 p.m. when he crossed into the path of the car, police said.

The man, who was not in marked crosswalk, was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His name was not released pending notification of his family.

The driver, a 16-year-old Las Vegas girl, remained at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment, police said.

The incident remains under investigation, police said.
