Clark County will help decide all three legislative vacancies that will need to be filled for the 2019 session.

Two Senate seats are in Clark County and the Assembly seat represents three counties — Clark, Lincoln and Nye.

Sen. Tick Segerblom won his bid for Clark County Commission, Aaron Ford is taking on the role of Attorney General, and in the Assembly, candidate Dennis Hof died before he was elected to the seat.

Democrats who live in Segerblom’s District 3 can apply to fill his seat, and those who live in  Ford’s District 11 can apply with the county to fill their seats. Republicans with addresses in Dennis Hof’s District 36 can apply for his spot.

Commissioners from the three counties in District 36 are expected to announce nominees for the Assembly seat in early December and make a decision at a Dec. 7 meeting. Clark County expects to finalize the Senate replacements at a Dec. 4 meeting.

Candidates have to meet several other requirements for consideration, such as being at least 21 years old.

Applications are available at the Clark County website and due by noon Nov. 26.
