Stretch of Interstate 15 closing for Project Neon

Tue, Nov 27, 2018 (1:54 p.m.)

The northbound lanes of Interstate 15 in the central valley will close for several hours tonight while crews install traffic management signs as part of Project Neon, according to the Nevada Department of Transportation.

Motorists planning on traveling the freeway between Sahara Avenue and Charleston Boulevard should seek alternate routes from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, officials said. The Sahara on-ramp to northbound I-15 also will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday, officials said.

Project Neon, a nearly $1 billion project to widen a 4-mile stretch of I-15 and U.S. 95, kicked off in 2016.
