Rain in valley expected to move out this evening

Thu, Nov 29, 2018 (2:34 p.m.)

Showers across the Las Vegas Valley were expected to move out by this evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain accumulations across the valley as of about 2 p.m. ranged from .10 inch to a half inch, with the heaviest rainfall in the far west valley, meteorologist Andy Gorelow said.

The surrounding mountains, meanwhile, were being blanketed by snow. By the time the system moves out, Lee Canyon was expected to receive a foot of snow, Gorelow said.

Today's temperature hit a high of 61 degrees, before falling into the mid-50s this afternoon, Gorelow said.

Friday will be cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain.

The Weather Service advised drivers to exercise caution and give themselves enough time to stop on wet streets.
