Quarterback Luke Bennett had a 30-yard touchdown run tonight for the Moapa Valley football team in a 14-0 win against host Clark in a nonleague game.

Jessup Lake also had a rushing touchdown for the Pirates, who won for the eighth straight week and wrapped up the No. 1 seed in the 3A Sunrise League after Virgin Valley was upset by Sunrise Mountain.

Moapa Valley rested a handful of starters against Clark for next week’s “Hammer Game” against Virgin Valley.

“It was nice to get a win. It was nice to get out healthy,” Moapa Valley coach Brent Lewis said.
