A prison official says a 55-year-old state inmate from Las Vegas who had several convictions on drug charges and was serving up to four years on a probation violation and weapon charge has died in custody.

The Nevada Department of Corrections said Monday that Tony Lewis Traylor died Friday at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas.

Prisons spokeswoman Brooke Santina says Traylor had not been involved in a physical altercation or fight and his death was not being investigated as suspicious. An autopsy was scheduled.

Traylor had been housed at High Desert State Prison in Indian Springs after being sentenced in June 2017 in Clark County District Court.

Records showed Traylor had at least three convictions on felony drug possession, trafficking and sales charges since 2000.
