John Park Elementary School in central Las Vegas was temporarily evacuated this morning after a fire in a bathroom trash can, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue officials.

Nobody was injured, officials said.

The fire, which started in a can full of paper towels, was reported about 8:50 a.m. at the school in the 900 block of Franklin Avenue, near Maryland Parkway and Oakey Boulevard, officials said.

The blaze activated the sprinkler system, which doused the flames, officials said.

The fire did not do any damage to the building, officials said.
