Micah Bowens completed 15 of 18 passes for more than 300 yards and four touchdowns today for the Bishop Gorman High football team in a 57-34 win against Durango.

Gorman led 36-6 at halftime before Durango scored three touchdowns in the third quarter to trim the deficit to just 16 points.

“They made some plays in the second half,” Gorman coach Kenny Sanchez said of Durango.

Rome Odunze and Donovan Smith each had more than 100 receiving yards for the Gaels and combined for three touchdowns. Amod Cianelli rushed for more than 100 yards and a touchdown.

The victory clinched the Southwest League title for Gorman, who hasn’t lost to a Nevada opponent since 2008. It was their 12th straight league title.

“We are right where we need to be. We just won the division title,” Sanchez said. “I am not going to say I am thrilled. We need to get a lot better and there’s a lot of season left.”

For Durango, Jayden Nersinger had more than 100 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
