Nevada voters will be able to watch the Democrat and incumbent Republican running for Senate in the only debate of the campaign to be televised statewide.
KLAS Channel 8 is partnering with a group of television stations statewide to ensure the debate is available at 6 p.m. today in Southern Nevada. Sen. Dean Heller faces Democratic Rep. Jacky Rosen in a debate moderated by Denise Valdez and Steve Sebelius of KLAS-TV as well as Tsi-Tsi-Ki Félix of Univision.
Rosen said the day before the debate that health care was one of the top issues she wanted to discuss. Her campaign has criticized Heller’s votes both for and against Obamacare repeal.
A Public Policy Polling survey of 648 Nevada voters from Oct. 15-16 says 57 percent of respondents want Obamacare fixed, 34 percent want repeal and a new health care law, and 9 percent are unsure. The poll was provided by Protect Our Care, a group that advocates for the Affordable Care Act.
People can see the Spanish version of the debate at 6 p.m. Oct. 27 on Univision affiliates.
