LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Women’s anger not mysterious

Mon, Oct 22, 2018 (2 a.m.)

The Oct. 15 letter “State of America fuels much anger” expressed the feelings of a lot of women.

In my lifetime learning class, all but one of the men were unable to understand the anger we women were expressing with regards to the Supreme Court confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh.

They couldn’t understand that our anger was not about Kavanuagh’s teenage behavior (we all did stupid things when we were teenagers, but maturity is taking responsibility for them).

They couldn’t understand our anger that the focus was on the “lack of proof” (and the limitations of what the FBI was allowed to investigate) of one teenage incident, rather than on the obvious incidents of lies Kavanaugh expressed while under oath.

They couldn’t understand (except for the one black man in the class) what “white male entitlement” is.

I’m most angry to find that I’m protesting the same old stuff that I was 50 years ago. However, I won’t stop protesting until 50 percent of my leaders are female or I’m dead and gone.
