Henderson Police shot and killed a man early this morning after he charged at officers with a box cutter, authorities said.
Officers were dispatched about 4:15 a.m. to a home in the 1500 block of Point Vista Ave. after a female placed a 911 call from the residence, police said.
Officers heard screams coming from inside and forced their way into the home, Lt. Kirk Moore said.
They encountered a man in a closet armed with a box cutter, he said. The man rushed the officers before he was shot, Moore said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A female was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries, Moore said. It was not clear how she was injured.
The officers were placed on routine paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation, police said.
